The lowest form of strike rate will come from backing a single horse to win. The National Newspapers all have their tipping experts whose results are tracked and tabulated by the racing industry’s bible The Racing Post. From this you will see that the majority of the guys struggle to achieve a strike rate of more than 30%, or put in a negative perspective they lose 70%. The bookies fill their coffers from mug punters in their shops who try to back winners and will always show a long term loss.
No doubt you get your share of junk mail from supposed in the know experts purporting to have “insider information” from stables, wonderful systems they have developed, the hard done by who have been struck off by bookies so they want you to place bets on their behalf – they of course never reimburse you for your losses whilst they collect on win bets, they are sponsored by the rich and famous whose gambling interests they handle, they know the leading trainers and jockeys helicopter pilots and drivers to whom they pay heavily for info. The list goes on and on. They are nearly all cons so should be avoided at all costs. I know people who have been conned out of thousands of pounds by these unscrupulous operators who should be avoided like the plague. When these scams come to light we always advise members.
So what do we do that the others don’t?
To start with we offer an honest and credible service from which we publish our daily results to our web site and to other agencies. We don’t hide behind E mail addresses and premium phone lines and are available by phone most afternoons.
We don’t win every day – nobody does – but our strike rates from our systems are excellent.
We split our recommendations into win bets and lays (losing horse bets).
We occasionally advise on a single horse to win but generally prefer to make multiple bets on a race thus enhancing our winning chances. The reverse applying to lays where we only need the single selection to lose to collect the money.
The Harvester Plan
This has been for some years our market leader. We select usually three horses in a race where the odds are beneficial to us and make a profit if any of the first three come in. We bias the stakes in the ratio of the probability to maximise our profit potential – at this point don’t panic as we have a wonderful piece of software that does all the sums for you in seconds. This retails at £65 and comes FREE with our initial membership.
(Our Bet Placement Agency operate the same software and are fully conversant with all our systems).
Naps
These are single to win bets that we occasionally produce when the information we receive points to a strong winner. We do not do odds on selections.
The 80/20 Plan
In this plan we take a horse that we think will win and cover ourselves with a bit of insurance by backing it for a profit if it comes in the first three. We take a 100 unit bet and place 20% of the stakes on the winner and 80% of the stakes on a place (2nd or 3rd) win. Typical odds would be 3/1 on the win (would earn £60 from £20 of the total £100 stake) and 4/5 on a place win (£80 x 4/5 = £64). If the horse wins we collect £124 if it comes in second or third we collect £64 -£20 = £44. This type of bet is more suitable to summer racing where the larger fields create better odds and don’t have the risk of fallers.
Lays
With a lay bet we bet that a horse won’t win. Lays are always an attractive proposition as there is only one winner of a race that needs to be avoided in order to collect a profit. The penalty is of course that the bettor pays the opposers stakes times odds so a tight low odds selection system is essential. In effect the bettor is acting as the bookmaker there is however a significant difference in as much that the bookmaker takes bets on every horse in the race thus making a profit on most races. Our Lays strike rate run at around a 70% successful strike rate and we limit our liability to 4/1.
Place Lays
With a place Lay we win if the horse comes in fourth or worse. These bets enable us to make exceptional profits from low grade horses. A poor horse with little prospect of success, that would typically be priced at 25/1 for a win bet, can be place layed for around 6/1. We do two levels of bets, based on percentage probabilities, capping at 6/1 and 10/1 respectively. Our strike rate on these bets is in excess of 90%.
We constantly research the market for ways of improving our selection techniques and for new betting plans
